We have the perfect landscape for mtb and trail running.  Lots of elevation, single track, natural bush, forest roads, river crossings, jeep track and countless magnificent views.  Climbing yields great rewards here and you will feel on top of the world when you reach the high points in the area.

We have varying distances depending on fitness and skill levels. Glenn Harrison, trail guru of Sani2C, Joburg2C and Berg n Bush has been involved in the design of many of our trails.  We have plenty in store for you and are currently working on a complete network of exciting trails.  From the casual rider wanting to explore the area to the parent wanting to get out peddling with the kids to the competitive gear grinding racing snake needing a challenge- we have something for you all.

 

The Athlete Retreat

The Ultimate Athlete package!

We have put together a destination designed to support and provide any level of athlete with the ultimate training and recovery package at the exquisite setting of Myddelton Farm.

Routes ~ We will design specific routes depending on the skill and fitness levels of any group, just give us your necessary training requirements like distance and elevation and we will do the rest. For longer training rides we can provide a support station/water table on route. Rides can be guided or GPS navigated routes can be provided.

Once the miles have been done let recovery begin…..

Bike wash ~ Let someone else take the admin of bike washing out of your day, we will shine up your bike to its former glory while you put your feet up and relax.

Catering ~ You can choose a partial catering package of meals of your choice or a full catering package so the athlete in you can be fully nourished without lifting a finger. You can even go so far as to choose your basic menu and we will cook food of your choice. We specialise in home cooked food and try and source as much as we can locally so you are not only guaranteed wholesome fresh farm produce but you are also supporting local.

Sports massage ~ The ultimate recovery technique, good for tired muscles and a mental lift. Linda Hodson does all the sports massage, she is a fully qualified sports and remedial massage therapist and a cyclist herself so she knows what hurts the most! Massage time slots will vary depending on the size of the group. R350 for 1 hour.

Pilates and stretch session ~ Also on offer is a one hour pilates and stretch combination session that can be slotted in at any point in the day depending on the group or individual’s preference. You don’t need to have done pilates to benefit from this session – it is a non-technical but specifically designed workout with stretching that will be programmed with the specific requirements of the group in mind. Rollers and bands will be available for deep tissue work and stretching. Linda Hodson who is a qualified pilates instructor will lead this session.

Chill time ~ What we haven’t mentioned yet is a little bit of country is good for the soul. Farm life reminds us of the saying ‘less is more’. It reminds us about getting back to old fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine. We like to believe that at the end of the day your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling. So take a little time out for these simple pleasures, you will find it hard not to at Myddelton Farm.
